20 years later, a conversation between my father and Polska
︎
The bilingual poem 20 years later, a conversation between my father and Polska was shot this past September in the kitchen of my grandmother's block apartment in Mielec, Poland. It was written not long after my father's mother died several years ago. Kitchens are historically significant for Eastern Europeans. The sink and countertop, the stove and the table, the window looking over the courtyard -- and the grandmother among it all.
