Time Will Console You. The Dead Are Nothing.

The video was shot in my sister’s bathtub in Des Moines, IA. I was thinking about the space that exists between the living and the dead as a kind of communication breakdown. My writing process often starts with images that I try my best to translate into words, so it also seems like a sometimes faulty or fractured act of language. Like speaking over the telephone with the dead, which I’ve read described as “electronic voice phenomena,” an evocative phrase.
